Rick Thomas, Partner
With over thirty years in federal contracting, Rick Thomas is a well-known leader in the chemical and biological defense sectors with experience in technology development, operations, strategic development and senior management. Using this experience, Rick is generating M&A opportunities for buy-side clients while helping generate premium valuations for sellers with expertise in pre-transaction planning, value enhancement and integration management.
Rick is the former President of Environmental Technologies Group, Inc., a diverse company that developed and manufactured chemical and biological detection systems. The company was acquired by Smiths plc where he led the company through a period of organic growth and acquisitions that grew the US operations to $70M in revenue. Recently, Rick led ENSCO, Inc.’s expansion into the chemical biological defense arena where he served as Director of Strategic Programs and developed and executed strategic plans and developed technical and programmatic solutions for their federal CBRN clients. He came to ENSCO from Innovative Biosensors (IBI) where he led their business development activities leveraging their technologies and intellectual property to expand their business sufficiently to spin-off PathSensors in 2010 to address security, environmental, food and agriculture markets.
Rick received his B.S. in chemistry from Loyola College Maryland. He is married with two children and is active in his church community. Rick enjoys sailing, kayaking and listening to music.
